News! I am now represented by the lovely Mary C. Moore, literary agent with Kimberley Cameron & Associates. Mary wears many hats – she’s a writer and editor as well as being a literary agent. You can read one of her short stories here.
Now, before you ask me when my book is coming out, my short answer is that I don’t know. An agent is not a publisher. An agent represents your interests to publishers, making submissions and managing contracts on your behalf. Most commercial publishers do not accept unagented submissions, so this is the way to go if you wish to be “traditionally” published.
I’ve been working on my Asiana series off and on for years – Book 1, Markswoman, is complete, and I’m half-way through Book 2. Actually, I’ve already written the ending of Book 2 – it’s all the stuff in the middle I have to write. The “scary middles”, writer Karl Schroeder calls them, and I have to agree. It’s beastly stuff. It sometimes feels like you need a plier to wrench it out. And so I cheat, first writing the parts that come easy, that seem to write themselves, rather than doing it linearly.
Mary C. Moore has been with Kimberley Cameron & Associates since 2012. She specializes in science fiction and fantasy, and we share a lot of ‘favorite’ authors. I’m excited to be working with her! Will keep you posted on any publishing news.

OMG! Congratulations, Rati!! I’ve read your description of the Asiana series on this site, and I can’t wait to someday read the books themselves. I see you have another story on Critters this week, so I’ll be contenting myself with that for now =)

Thanks Vanessa! Keeping fingers crossed I can find a home for the Asiana books. I’ve been obsessing over them for years. 🙂
