Stories, Launches, and More

In the Woods, My Voice is my latest publication, a short story which is now live in the October issue of Orson Scott Card’s InterGalactic Medicine Show. You can read it or listen to an audio version narrated by the amazing Alethea Kontis (if you are a subscriber). To say I’m pleased is an understatement. This is my first publication in IGMS, and I’m delighted my story is the audio selection of the issue. Alethea’s done a wonderful job of narrating it. I especially love her “Grandma” voice.

In the Woods, My Voice is a fairy tale of sorts. Except without fairies. There are witches, though, and a dark forest, and magic lost and found. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

In other news, last week I attended the Toronto launch of Where the Stars Rise: Asian Science Fiction & Fantasy in which I have a story. And next Saturday (28 October) is the the Toronto launch of Compostela (Tesseracts Twenty) in which I also have a story. I might be reading from my story – not sure yet. In any case, all are welcome to join us at 3 pm in the Bakka Phoenix Bookstore.

Bakka Phoenix is also where I’ve decided to have my launch of Markswoman! On 27 January 2018, at 3 pm. If you’re in Toronto, please join me. There will be samosas. Or, as Kyra calls them, ‘samsas’. The Order of Kali has a really great cook called Tarshana, who makes delicious and healthy vegetarian food for the Markswomen. You can tell how much I love food reading this book! Honestly, I think food is an important part of world building.

I have an international goodreads giveaway for my book, ending on 25 October. Enter for a chance to win a signed copy from yours truly. 🙂
