Flower and Thorn Book Launch and Reviews

It’s October, my book release month! I received the finished copies of FLOWER AND THORN and they’re just gorgeous. The book is out on 17th October, but I’ll be doing a launch in-person at my favorite local bookstore Bakka Phoenix Books on 21 October at 3 pm. Link to event page is here. If you’re in the GTA and enjoy reading fantasy, I hope to see you! The first chapter is free to read if you want to try it out. If you can’t make it and want a signed copy, you can pre-order from the store and they will ship it to you. Make sure you let them know you want it signed.

FLOWER AND THORN has gotten some great trade reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, and a STARRED review from Booklist that made me very happy. I hope my readers enjoy it too. A reminder that while the book does not have a map, I did make one, because I love maps in my fantasy. You can access it here. This book was so hard to write, research and edit, I’ve been in withdrawal ever since, hah. Worth the effort, because I’ve never really explored colonialism in my work before.

Night of the Raven, Dawn of the Dove was set in alternate thirteenth century India, FLOWER AND THORN is set in the early sixteenth century. My next logical step would be nineteenth century India, but that might just finish me off, lol.

Anyway, here is a video I made of me opening my precious box. As usual, I forget what my book is about midway through.
