Two-book deal with Harper Voyager – Markswoman will see the light!

The subject line says it all. I am so delighted to announce my two-book deal with Harper Voyager! All thanks to my lovely agent Mary C. Moore.

From the Publishers Marketplace:
“Rati Mehrotra’s MARKSWOMAN, a duology about a female order of magical-knife-wielding assassins who bring both peace and chaos to Asiana, a post-apocalyptic version of Asia, to Rebecca Lucash at Voyager, in a nice deal, for publication in January 2018, by Mary C. Moore at Kimberley Cameron & Associates (World English).”

Markswoman is tentatively scheduled to be published in Jan 2018, and the sequel for Jan 2019. It seems a long time to wait, but honestly, I’ve been writing and dreaming of Asiana for so many years now that it doesn’t seem all that far in the future. Plus, it gives me enough time to write the sequel. I love the sequel, by the way. But it’s mostly in my head right now. Very excited at the prospect of actually writing it all down! And one day holding my books in my hands!

On that note, is the correct word duology or dualogy? I ought to know, seeing as I’m writing one…

    • Pooja, you made it possible for me in the first place by picking me out of the slush, giving me all that feedback from your amazing interns, and referring me to Mary. THANK YOU. 🙂
